Mohan is a professionally trained chef, dancer and yoga instructor. He was born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and now lives in New York City. His passion for food developed in childhood, leading him to pursue a degree at the International Culinary Center in New York City and Alma in Italy. Combining his global culinary background, performing arts experiences, and yoga, Mohan uses food as a medium to transcend personal boundaries through taste. His methodology in cooking is uniquely characterized by an ever flow of story-telling and lyricism. He believes his well-rounded perspective in global cuisine, dance arts and culture has enabled him to unleash his fullest creative potential in the kitchen. Key to his culinary pedagogy is the use of Mudra (hand gestures), Asana (posture), and imagery to achieve a high level of creative potential and well being. He brings a brand new vocabulary to the kitchen where each person can engage in personal integration toward a clearer definition of self.
