Tofu and Pork Stir-Fry

This is a quick, easy, and delicious traditional Chinese recipe. If you don’t have a wok you can use a large skillet. If using a skillet be sure to keep the pan over medium-high to high heat throughout the cooking process, you may also need to add a couple additional minutes of cooking time to this recipe.
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1 box regular tofu, cut into bite-sized pieces (extra firm works also)
- 3 cloves garlic, smashed or finely chopped
- 1 scallion, chopped
- 1 1/2 tsp hot chili garlic sauce
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2/3 cup chicken broth
- cooking oil (canola, peanut, vegetable, etc.)
- sesame oil to taste (approx. 1/2 tsp)
Method
Step 1
Heat wok. When hot, add two teaspoons of cooking oil.
Step 2
Add tofu. On medium heat, cook until the cubes are golden brown on the outside. Remove from wok and drain.
Step 3
Add another two teaspoons of oil. Add garlic and pork.
Step 4
Simmer for 7-8 minutes until all the contents are hot and the sauce has thickened.
Step 5
Adjust seasoning as desired. Add a few drops of sesame oil. Sprinkle scallions on top and serve over rice.
